What does Port Credit Village Project Do?
The Port Credit Village Project (PCVP) is an incorporated non-profit organization of volunteers with the goal to enhance the district character of Port Credit. We try to protect and promote the material history of the Village. We encourage a healthy atmosphere by restoring the trees and shrubs making cleaner air, cooler interiors and prettier shop-fronts.
We also seek to encourage and initiate public and private development of artistic expressions of the on-going story of Port Credit. We work to tell this story through permanent or temporary installations of sculpture, mural, mosaics, signage, etchings and architectural detail in ways to promote the area. Port Credit’s history gives much to consider — 10,000 years of aboriginal settlement, British newcomers, stonehookers, colourful captains, wild salmon ….
